When to go
May to October
Few landscapes on earth disorient the eye like Skardu. The Indus widens into glassy bends; sand dunes drift against snow-capped ridges; the Shigar valley opens into orchards walled by granite.
From here we stage discreet expeditions toward Concordia and the Baltoro, or simply spend slow days at restored Balti-style residences, the staff drawn from the village down the road.
